Moshe Ya'alon , Israeli Minister of Defense


Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon, Minister of Defense of the State of Israel, was born in 1950 in Kiryat Haim, a suburb of Haifa. In 1968, he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and, after three years as a paratrooper soldier, was released with the rank of sergeant first class. He then moved south to Kibbutz Grofit, in the Arava Valley. With the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War, Ya'alon was sent as a reserve soldier to join the battle against the Egyptian Army on the Southern Front. 
At the war’s conclusion, Ya'alon joined the military as a platoon leader and enlisted in an officer’s training course. He went on to hold several prominent combat commanding positions in the prestigious paratrooper brigade, from company to battalion and brigade commander. He was also commander of the prestigious paratroopers reconnaissance platoon and of Israel’s most elite Sayeret Matkal commando unit. Ya'alon also served as Judea and Samaria Division Commander and commander of the IDF’s central land warfare training base in Tzeelim. 
In 1995, Minister Ya'alon was awarded the rank of Major General and was appointed head of the IDF’s military intelligence corps. He later served as commander of Central Command, Deputy Chief Of Staff and then Chief Of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces. During his tenure as chief of staff, from 2002-2005, the IDF continuously fought against Palestinian terror aimed at Israeli civilians.  
Minister Ya'alon joined the Likud party in 2008 and, from 2009-2013, served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategic Affairs. In 2013, Mr. Ya'alon was appointed Minister of Defense. 
Minister Ya'alon is a married father of three and grandfather of six.

Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Amos Gilad, Director of Policy and Political-Military Affairs, IMOD; Chair of the Security Relations with Regional and Strategic Partners in Israel

Born in 1951, Major General (Res.) Amos Gilad serves as the current Director of Policy and Political-Military Affairs at the Ministry of Defense and Chair of the Security Relations with Regional and Strategic Partners in Israel. Prior to these positions, General Gilad held several positions within the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) before he was discharged with the rank of Major General in July 2003. From 2001 to 2003, and again from 2008 to 2009 General Gilad worked as the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories. Prior to that, General Gilad served as the Head of the Military Intelligence Research Division, and was responsible for the overall National Intelligence Assessment from 1996 to 2001. General Gilad served as an IDF Spokesman from 1994-1996, and acting Military Secretary of the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister from 1993 to 1994. Prior to those positions, General Gilad served as a senior member of the Israeli Delegation to the Peace Talks from 1992 to 1993, and worked on various assignments within IDF Military Intelligence from 1973 to 1992. General Gilad received two awards from the American Defense Establishment “Legion of Merits” and the Defense Intelligence Agency Director’s Award. General Gilad holds an M.A. in Political Science and National Security Studies from Haifa University in conjunction with the National Security College.

He is a well known advisor and consultant in the data security and cyber arena.

Major (Res.) Eyal Ben-Reuven, M.K.

M.K Eyal Ben-Reuven (born 22 May 1954) is a retired major general in the Israel Defense Forces, commander of the military colleges and senior field commander. He is the former deputy commander of the Northern Command, for which he still serves as a reserve.He enlisted in the IDF in 1972 as a member of the Armor Corps, participated in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, fighting both near the Suez Canal and at the Golan Heights. He commanded an armor battalion the 1982 Lebanon War.Ben-Reuven was the deputy commander of the Northern Command in the 2006 Lebanon War.After retirement from the army he became director of the Born to Freedom Foundation which works to secure the release of Israeli prisoners of war.
Before the 2015 election, he joined the Zionist Union, taking spot 24 on its list.

Tomer Malchi, CTO & Co-founder, ASIO

Mr. Malchi is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Co-founder of ASIO 

Technologies Ltd. Mr. Malchi is an active reserve Captain in the IDF’s Special 

Intelligence and Fire Support unit, with 20 years of operational and training 

experience. Mr. Malchi is also an expert in fire support, target acquisition 

systems and in the field of tactical User Interfaces – The design of simple and 

intuitive operating systems for combat systems.

Brig. Gen. (Res.) Effi Idan, Vice Chairman, Uvision

Brig. Gen. (R) Effi Idan has 30 years of rich operational Military experience from the Israel Defense Forces and years of coping with strategic security challenges in the international arenas. Former Chief of Staff of the I.D.F. 
Southern Command, Division Commander, Commander of the Infantry School and Non Commissioned Officers courses, and Regional Brigade Commander. After retirement from the Military, B.G. Idan led large scale projects around the globe including the development and implementation of national strategy at the country level, strategic consultancy to Defense Ministers and Chiefs of Security Organizations, development of Security and Safety concepts for strategic facilities, build-up of security arrays, and Special Forces units build-up.  B.G. Idan holds a M.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Economics and Business from the University of Haifa. He is also a graduate of the Israel National Security College, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and several military and leadership international courses.

Col. (Res.) Erez Peled, Vice President Marketing and Business development, Elbit Land and C4I Division


Erez Peled was appointed as Vice President Marketing and Business development – Elbit Land and C4I in August 2013.
From 2003 until his current appointment he has held various management positions in Elbit Systems Group, including Vice President Business Development and Programs – Elbit Systems of Canada and President and CEO of G-NIUS Unmanned Ground Systems – A company of Elbit Systems. He has Joined Elbit Systems in 1997.
Prior to that, he served as an artillery officer in the IDF, where he holds the rank of Colonel (reserves).
Erez Peled holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technion and Master of Science in Management degree from Polytechnic University New York. 


Maj. General Dimokritos Zervakis, Director, Artillery Directorate, Hellenic Army General Staff, Greece


Major General Dimokritos Zervakis was born in 1961 in Heraklion, Crete. He graduated from the Hellenic Army Military Academy (EVELPIDON) in 1983 and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the Artillery.
He has attended all the Artillery schools and courses pertinent to his grade, and is a graduate of the Hellenic Army War College and the Hellenic National Defence College. He is also a graduate of the United States Basic Army Artillery Training Course and the United States Army Command and General Staff College. 
Major General Zervakis holds a Bachelor degree (Ptychio) of the Department of International and European Studies, Panteion University, Greece, and a postgraduate degree (Master of Arts) in Strategic Studies, Hull University, UK.
He has served in various positions in Artillery Units and, as a Trainer and a Staff Officer in the Research Office at the Artillery School. He has also served as Observer and Staff Officer in the United Nations Mission in Kuwait-Iraq (UNIKOM), and as Staff Officer in the Military Representation of Greece to the European Union. 
Major General Zervakis assumed the task of the initial formation and subsequently the Command of 194 Multiple Launch Rocket System Battalion (MLRS), and the Command of 156 PzH-2000 Artillery Battalion (Self Propelled). He has also served as Director of the Staff Office of the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, as Staff Officer and, for two years, as Director of the Defence Policy Division of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff. As Brigadier General, he also assumed the Command of 96 National Guard Command, based on the island of Chios.
Promoted to the rank of Major General in 2014, he served as Chief of Staff of the National Guard General Staff of the Republic of Cyprus. Effective March 2016, he is the Director of the Artillery Directorate of the Hellenic Army General Staff.
He has been awarded with all the decorations, commendations and medals pertinent to his rank and duties, with the United Nations Medal, as well as the Silver Medal for National Defence of the Defence Ministry and the Medal of the Order of the National Merit, of the French Republic.


Col. (Res.) Ron Tryfus, Director Marketing & Sales, Air Combat Systems Directorate, IMI Systems

Mr. Ron Tryfus – Director: Mr. Tryfus has over 23 years of experience in marketing, sales and business development. He has held the position of VP Marketing for several companies and also serves on the boards of a number of high tech companies. In 2003 he established Lynxth Business Development Ltd. Lynxth provides consultancy services in international marketing and business development with a focus on three main areas of interest: 1.Command and Control systems. 2. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. 3. Air to Ground munitions and Aircraft protection systems. 
Between 1978 – 1993 Mr. Tryfus served as an officer in the IAF (Israel Air Force) Command and Operations division and subsequently in the operation and control of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.  Mr. Tryfus is still in active reserve duty at the IAF (UAV operations) and holds a rank of Colonel.
Between 1993-1997 Mr. Tryfus was employed by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI Ltd.), first as a systems engineer and from 2004 onward as Marketing Manager for Asia, focusing on China and Mongolia and responsible for all IAI activities in these countries.
In the last 5 years Mr. Tryfus provides marketing and sales services to IMI Systems leading positioning of Air to Ground munitions, and on occasion to other Israeli Defense Industries for Aircraft protection systems and Air Force Command and Control.
Mr. Tryfus holds a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration (Bar-Ilan University), L.L.B (Haifa University) and L.L.M (Tel Aviv University and UC Berkeley).
